An Overview of Irish Genealogical Records
The past two years have been unprecedented in Irish Genealogy. The change started with the online publication of the National Library of Ireland’s collection of Catholic Parish Records. While these records were not indexed they have since been indexed by Ancestry and Find My Past.
The second significant development is the web site Irish Genealogy which indexes birth, marriage, and death records. Currently they have implemented the online publication of birth certificates at no charge. They are currently working on completing marriage and death certificates.
This presentation will also discuss Griffith’s Valuation, the census, and John Grenham’s maps.
