Beginning German Genealogy Research

Do you have a German ancestor in your family tree? In this presentation, you will learn the basic methods for how to begin your journey into German genealogy research. A brief history of Germany and former German Lands will be presented, and you will also learn what sources are available at MGC and online to help you with your research. At the end of this class, you should have a basic knowledge of how to start, where to find resources, where to look for records, and how to deal with foreign language records to be proficient in your research.
