With 48 years of experience Kris has found literally thousands of her ancestors. She is most grateful for locating the information for her mother's biological family. Her mother was put in foster care at age three with almost no biological information available. Kris has taught many classes in our community and local family history center. She has helped relatives and others with their research and done private research for some. She has made numerous research trips and expanded her family history through careful documentation.
Kris has worked in her local Family History center for 32 years, most recently as the trainer for new consultants and training for more experienced consultants. Genealogy is her life! She has also taken many genealogy classes and attended many conferences.
From Pressure to Purpose: Inspiring Family History Through Love (LDS emphasis)
Focusing on one simple goal: helping people actually engage in family history—not because they feel pressured, but because they feel something meaningful. As leaders and consultants, we often feel responsible to "get family history going". But in this we’re going to shift how we think about that. Here’s a key idea for the class: We cannot make hearts turn—but we can create opportunities where hearts might turn. The class will present various proven activities and ideas for Adults, Leaders, Elderly, Youth and the ward in general to be inspired and develop an interest in family history work and gathering Israel from beyond the veil. We will explore missionary opportunities, individual approaches, activities and resources available. Hopefully these ideas can create more ideas for each unit and their needs. Careful heed to handbook guidelines will be given.
