Finding Females Research Tips and Examples - Shelli Nye Come with some experience looking at records and seeing what they contain. This class will show examples of finding females with clues from the extended family members around them. We are looking to prove their identity by understanding their relationships. We will use "If...Then" inferential thinking and apply it to a mind mapping model. Family relationships are easier to understand using an expanded family chart (vertical and horizontal mind map) to include more generations. This kind of model allows for other possibilities when you include multiple marriages and various generations as you search for clues.
Case Study: Sorting Out Family Relationships - Shelli Nye We will be determining who is the mother and father of each child in a family of 14 children. We are looking to prove identity by understanding relationships, not just a name, date and place, especially southern nicknames! Family relationships are easier to understand using an expanded family chart to include more generations. We will explore an expanding vertical and horizontal mind mapping model. This kind of model allows for other possibilities when you include multiple marriages and various generations as you search for clues. It is easy to overlook a clue and leave individuals unidentified or make a wrong assumption.
