Shelli Nye

Even though Shelli Nye was born in Utah and is a descendant of early Utah pioneers, she has lived in 15 states and has several Mayflower ancestors including her 10th great grandfather, Governor William Bradford. She recently moved from Philadelphia to KC to be close to her grandchildren. She graduated from Brigham Young University Provo, Utah in Communications and Interior Design. Following family history traditions, her volunteer service for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints includes serving for 12 years as a director of a family history center and a regional training consultant in eastern PA, NJ and Delaware. She taught many classes in the center, local libraries, and conferences helping others to understand and access the benefits of FamilySearch.org.

3 Case Studies to help discover how details in a photo (and also how you came to have the photo) can help you to determine who is in the photo. This class will focus on photo details, family member's memories, and historical records. Using the handout tips, we will come to learn who is in the photo and also add details of their life stories as we learn about their time and place in our family history. Every individual is important and their lives contribute to our personal stories and histories.
